Chrysler worldwide success in October

November 2011

Chrysler recorded significant sales for the month of October, both in Australia and overseas.

The most significant growth was seen in the US, where the marque recorded a 27 per cent increase - outperforming other car manufacturers by more than half.

No longer experiencing supply shortages and price increases caused by natural disasters, the industry as a whole strengthened throughout the month.

Chrysler's new-look product line helped to provide the brand with its 19th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains, according to head of the manufacturer's US sales Reid Bigland.

Monthly sales of 114,512 units also saw the marque selling 1.1 million vehicles for 2011 in the US.

Likewise, car sales in Australia were up overall for the month, particularly amongst SUVs - the segment experienced growth of 5.4 per cent compared with the previous year.

"Manufacturers are reporting a steady increase in demand, placing the industry in a strong position to reach our target of one million sales for the calendar year," Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries chief executive Ian Chalmers said.
